Detroit,MI——- 67% of African American children are raised in a single-parent household. This is a major problem, a kids childhood outcome might determine how they are for the rest of their life. Children Raised in Single-Parent house holds just don’t have the advantages that children raised in a two-parent household have. The State Of Michigan is riddled by this epidemic, 74% of the households in Michigan are single. In My Opinion There isn’t much you can do to change this problem. Unfortunately this is just life many things contribute to this problem. We as americans just need to face the fact that sometimes things just don’t work out and just because its a single parent house hold it does’nt mean the other parent isn’t involved in the childs life. At the end of the day only people that can control this situation are the parents both mother and father. They make the choice and bare the responsibility of whatever decision is made. However if the decision is to cut ties with their significant other, it’s not the end of the world. Contrary to what some simple minded people believe it is possible to raise a child in a divided household the parents just have to be mature about the situation and have the childs best interest at heart.
